Elevators, fire panels and gates: know what's still on copper.
Many building systems still dial out over a copper line. Send the property's phone bill and we'll tell you which lines to look at, free, in English or Spanish.
What we look at in a building
Elevator phones
Emergency line in the cab.
Fire alarm panel
Communicator or dialer to the monitoring center.
Gates & entry phones
Call boxes that dial a phone.
Alarms
Alarm dialers in offices or storage.
Common areas
Pool, gym or leasing-office phones.
Fax & terminals
Office fax and payment backup.
These are common categories, not an exact list for your building.

We compare alternatives across dozens of carriers. You decide with your board or owner.
Why now
Since Oct 15, 2026, FCC rules streamline copper-retirement notices. AT&T asked to end landline voice in parts of California on or after June 1, 2027, and the CPUC is challenging it. Checking early gives you room to coordinate with your elevator and alarm vendors.

Why you can trust us
FAQ
Does one check cover all tenants?
We review the lines you manage: building and common-area lines. Any tenant who wants their own lines checked can use the same page at no cost.
What about elevator or fire panel inspections?
Those lines often carry code or inspection requirements. We flag which appear to be on copper so you can coordinate with your elevator or alarm vendor in time.
I manage several properties.
Send the bill for each property, together or one at a time. We send back a summary by address.
What does it cost?
Nothing to you or the association.
