How to find copper lines on your bill

Simple clues for spotting traditional landlines on your phone bill.

By Your Connectivity Advisor · October 14, 2026

  • Count the phone numbers on the bill. Each one is usually a line.
  • Look for words like Business Line, Local Service, Basic Line, Flat Rate or Measured Service. They often point to a traditional landline.
  • A charge like Federal Subscriber Line Charge or FCC Line Charge is another clue.
  • Match the list to devices on site: elevator, alarm panel, gate, entry phone, fax and card terminal. A number nobody calls is often one of those.
  • These are clues, not an exact rule. If in doubt, send us the photo and we'll check it free.
